Lace wings

This is one of my purchases from the vintage sale I went to on Saturday. It's one of the few pieces I found myself, my mum spotted nearly everything else - she has a good eye. It did have long sleeves which I hacked off gently unpicked because they had a stain and made it feel a bit too over the top.

I adore lace, and this is just too pretty. Though I think it was made for a swan because I can't manage to do the buttons all the way up.

Gum Nut

This dress has a bit of an Australiana feel to it, with the little gum nuts. It reminds me of the May Gibbs illustrations and books, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. I don't wear it often because it's a little tricky to style and it's a little tight around my arms.

The sunny weather persists. All I want to do is snuggle up in layers, though I suppose I should try to enjoy it while it lasts.

Saver Sunday

This morning Reece and I headed to a couple of local markets. Reece was on the look out for a bike for a client and I just love markets in general. However we found little to get excited about as most people were packing up because of the rain or hadn't come out at all. Luckily we also hit up our local Savers store where I scored a bunch of cloths for just $15 all up with my student discount.

Last of Summer

I wore this yesterday to go to uni. I was incredibly tired, near brain dead. It's not exactly gratifying to see evidence of this in photos.

I was very proud on my hemming job on this skirt, not lop sided in the least! It's a little harder to style than I'd anticipated, this shade of brown doesn't get along with much in my wardrobe.

Possibly Sunday

These photos are from the other day. I couldn't tell you what I did. I think it was hot, so it must of been the weekend. With our skills of deduction we can determine I must have worked. My short term memory is terrible.

Reece has kindly gifted me with his cold, an early valentines day present? I can feel myself fading so I'm going to curl up and watch Harry Potter. Their voices are so squeaky in the first film. Silly little wizards.

Classic cars

The Boy adores old cars and motorbikes and I have an ever growing appreciation for them. So last night we found ourselves at the motorclassica at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne. The building itself is amazing, fill it with beautifully restored cars and we were both in vintage heaven.

We visit many car events throughout the year but this one was a little different. There was less of a hot rod culture and more of a simple appreciation for gorgeous old cars restored to their formal glory. Also, for a change, I felt like one of the more dressed up people at a car event.

Many vehicles were up for auction. Sadly I do not have tens of thousands of dollars lying around to spend on old cars. A girl can dream though..

Afterwards we had dinner at a local bar which boasts great interior and atmosphere, yummy fresh food, tasty wine and a wide range of beers and ales. What else do you need?
