Gum Nut

This dress has a bit of an Australiana feel to it, with the little gum nuts. It reminds me of the May Gibbs illustrations and books, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. I don't wear it often because it's a little tricky to style and it's a little tight around my arms.

The sunny weather persists. All I want to do is snuggle up in layers, though I suppose I should try to enjoy it while it lasts.

Autumn Rays

I have a theory that the more apprehensive you are about an outfit as you put it together, the better it will turn out in the end. I always struggle with this top I bought a good year or more ago, but I think I've finally gotten it right. I'm going to call it casual-classic-contemprary-edwardian style, the edwardian comes from the insanely puffy sleeves.

Any attempt I make at cute-smirky-smiles always seems to translate to uncomfortable grimaces in the actual photo. The option of smile coaching not within my reach, I think it's a burden I shall have to bear.

And what's with these sweet, sunny Autumn days? My thoughts will no doubt change in a few months, but I'm dying for proper cold drizzly weather. I just want to wear ALL the knits ALL the time.

Short Story

A sunny morning of cleaning and packing for a weekend away before heading off to an afternoon shift of placement. Hence the parred down outfit.

Hair today, gone tomorrow

So I finally did it. I made peace with my long locks and bid farewell. I am in love with the new do, it's so much lighter and I don't feel overpowered or drowned out by thick, waist length hair. It's slightly concave but still wavy despite the shortness.

You can just see the cute elbow patches on my living doll cardigan, the belt is from hunter gatherer, the dress from retrostar and the shoes from Rivers. I had a great day filled with swimming, op shopping and lazy lunch, yay for uni holidays!

Mr Golden Sun

Another in the string of sunny days we have had lately and another exam crossed off the list for me. Just one tomorrow morning, a practical next week and then my placement to go. I'm looking forward to not having any pre-reading and I already have a list as long as my arm of things I want to get done over the break from uni.
This is the other dress I bought the other day, along with the belt. I can now give my wide elastic belt a well earned rest as this belt is similarly amazing. I'll get some closer pictures soon.

Today's study fuel is banana with pot et strawberry yoghurt. Yummy! I'm probably a little too excited that bananas are affordable again (after prices soared with the flooding earlier in the year). But I do love their yellow goodness.

Study haze

I am still stranded in study land, though I do have some exciting purchases and some exciting events to wear them to coming up in the next week. But that is all in due time. For now I leave you with my current study fuel and something I threw on the other day when I had few plans to leave the house.

Chasing the clouds away

Getting a tantalising taste of summer today, with nothing but blue skies and chirping birds. Perfect roadtrip whether as Mama Bear and I prepare to set off for Ballarat for two nights for a dance competition. I love Ballarat, it has a rich (pardon the pun) gold mining history and gorgeous old buildings.
The lovely whether inspired me to try some outdoor pictures. Nothing fancy, hopefully that will all change with a new camera!
This top and vest got me a "tres bien" from a French man when I was roaming Paris. Needless to day, they now hold a special place in my heart.
