Smooth Moves

I've become a little addicted to smoothies lately. My go-to blend is nothing special. Just a banana, a handful of strawberries, some natural yoghurt, a slosh of milk and a generous squeeze of honey.

Simple but oh so yummy, a nice energy boost when I'm studying.

Garden Gnomes

Yesterday Jaymee and I got our garden on, setting up a worm farm and reviving the neglected veggie patch. Jaymee did most of the work really, I just looked pretty.

We planted carrot, shallots, spinach, lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower. There were already some cherry tomatoes growing of their own accord next to the patch. I love the idea of being self sufficient, and being vegetarian I can get by on what I can grow myself. I'd love to get some chickens for eggs too.

As I've mentioned before, my weekend typically falls across a few weekdays. Hence my Monday was spent quite leisurely, watching Daria, interpretive dance whilst taking outfit photos, an optometrists appointment at my sister's work, visiting my family bearing swiss roll, finishing a book(it was great, must see the movie now) and internet shenanigans.

Lone Star

As a result of shift work, more often then not my weekend occurs across a few weekdays. While it is nice to sleep in while others are moaning about early starts it does have a number of downfalls. Such as having no one to go on adventures and lunch dates with. While I'm usually content to potter around the house cleaning or watching bad daytime TV, the presence of a number of builders constructing a deck at the moment takes away some of the tranquility. Today I spent a few hours wandering around op shops and bought my self lunch from my favourite local cafe.

Study haze

I am still stranded in study land, though I do have some exciting purchases and some exciting events to wear them to coming up in the next week. But that is all in due time. For now I leave you with my current study fuel and something I threw on the other day when I had few plans to leave the house.

Classic cars

The Boy adores old cars and motorbikes and I have an ever growing appreciation for them. So last night we found ourselves at the motorclassica at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne. The building itself is amazing, fill it with beautifully restored cars and we were both in vintage heaven.

We visit many car events throughout the year but this one was a little different. There was less of a hot rod culture and more of a simple appreciation for gorgeous old cars restored to their formal glory. Also, for a change, I felt like one of the more dressed up people at a car event.

Many vehicles were up for auction. Sadly I do not have tens of thousands of dollars lying around to spend on old cars. A girl can dream though..

Afterwards we had dinner at a local bar which boasts great interior and atmosphere, yummy fresh food, tasty wine and a wide range of beers and ales. What else do you need?

From Ballarat to study town

Mother Bear and I had a lovely time in Ballarat with my dance team mates. The morning before we departed for home we all ate at the Pancake Parlour. I had strawberry and rhubarb. Yum!

I am now easing my self into study land, with uni exams not far over the horizon. There is no better study fuel than cheesy cheesy toast, lady grey tea, celery and How I Met Your Mother.
