Tall Story

I wore this earlier in the week. From what I recall it was quite hot. I believe some shopping occurred but my memory is fuzzy.

I've been living in my high waisted shorts this week. I'm contemplating buying a different pair but I'm worried summer will be over by the time I do.

Jacket Love

I wore this yesterday to go to the movies with my sister - we saw The Muppets and LOVED it. I don't think I've ever actually been to a BBQ on Australia day, though I'm not what you'd call a typical Aussie.

Did I mention I love this jacket. It's turning into a bit of a love affair and is adding a certain machoness(if that's a word) to my style.

On a side note, I miss my goes-with-anything-and-everything necklace that I lost on NYE.

New Baby

Yesterday while we were looking for denim shorts for Reece I found a jacket on the sale rack at the Levis store. It was reduced by $60 but still a bit pricey. I tried it on for fun and loved it, but left it on the rack and we continued shopping.
The next 4 stores I kept talking about the jacket. It was haunting me. So of course I had to have it. Isn't it purdy?

Retro Chick

How do you combat a 34 degree day? Spend it in the air conditioned goodness of Ikea and Chadstone of course.
Reece and I headed into Ikea to by some desk organisation paraphernalia. Despite having a shelving unit snatched from under my nose we left in good spirits and headed to Chadstone to shop for clothes for Reece and maybe something for me too.

I wore this little baby I picked up at a local boutique. It has an amazing retro-glam feel and I got a compliment from a store assistant.

Blue Bell

I wore this earlier in the week when it was very hot indeed. I like this hat, however it tends to leap off my head at the slightest breath of wind. Very rude.

Zoo Fun

Yesterday my sister and I went to the Zoo. Much fun and cute animal watching was had by all.

It was a bordering-on-scorching 35 degrees so I wore a sun-smart, safari inspired out fit.

We brought a picnic.

And made new friends.

In all seriousness, the Melbourne Zoo is really great for conservation work and encouraging care for the environment. The habitats are amazing and I even bought some really nice eco-friendly crockery from the store as well as the awesome elephant tote in the outfit photo. And a meer cat for Reece.

Short Story

A sunny morning of cleaning and packing for a weekend away before heading off to an afternoon shift of placement. Hence the parred down outfit.

Photoshop

A sunny day calls for a sunny blazer. This little gem is going to get a lot of wear this summer, I can feel it in my waters. The boy and I are looking into purchasing a good SLR camera and tripod, so please excuse the crappy mirror shots, hopefully their days are numbered. Any suggestions of good brands would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a little ashamed to admit how much I am struggling with "buy nothing new month". I think it's partly the whole, you always want what you can't have thing. And the fact that I seem to see so many pretty things for a steal and I can't buy them. I may also have a pathological urge to spend money. I did slip up and buy Disneys Robin Hood and The Lion King on DVD, but I think that can be judged as medicinal anyway. Please don't judge me too harshly, I am only human after all.
